The CHLORENERGY® cultivation area is located in the very south of Japan, well over 1,000 km from Fukushima. Due to the prevailing wind direction, there has never been any radioactive contamination there. Areas in China located 1,000 km west of Japan and Seoul in South Korea, which is 1,200 km away, have been much more severely affected by radioactivity from Fukushima due to the constant westerly wind. 

CHLORENERGY® is also a freshwater algae and therefore never came into contact with potentially contaminated seawater. The cultivation of CHLORENERGY® in Chikugo uses freshwater of excellent quality. The water quality is continuously checked for pollutants by the manufacturer.

Chlorella Industry LTD is the only chlorella manufacturer that has its own production facility for chlorella cultivation. This means that the entire process, from cultivation to marketing, can take place in-house under strict quality control.

CHLORENERGY® is cultivated in Japan in huge outdoor pools. The decision to grow it outdoors in direct sunlight for optimal photosynthesis was made deliberately. In contrast to cultivation in artificial indoor tubes with sterile purity, the algae produce significantly more adaptogens in the open air. Outdoor algae interact with the outside world and adapt. They become significantly stronger and more resistant, which has a positive effect on their detoxification properties.
